Someone finally gets you and you are not alone. The words make sense and you realise that maybe I am not going crazy after all. You conclude-it's not just me; I am not alone in my darkness.

ABYSS takes the reader on a journey – a journey we are all forced to take at some point in our lives. When we are suffering inwardly, we often keep our inner suffering concealed from those closest to us. We put on a brave face and smile when all we want to do is cry and scream aloud. Winning the fight is not easy. The fight can feel like an endless battle and consume you from the inside out. The dark shadows buried deep in the far corners of our minds when we are at our most vulnerable, feed on our pain – loss, grief, rejection, depression, anxiety and much more. No one is immune. Through the art of poetry, I have touched on these raw emotions using some of my own experiences. I have delved deep into the darkness that I have journeyed in my lifetime to convey the emotional struggles that I know plague many. Emotional struggles are not a human defect – it’s naturally human.
