NEWS:Contrary Trees Productions Film Collaboration with Birmingham Jazz & Blues Festival July 2026

Directors, D.G Torrens and Martin Tracey are delighted to be collaborating with the Birmingham Jazz & Blues 42nd Festival this year. Our film: Birmingham a City Rooted in Talent will be shown on Tuesday 28th July at 7:pm at the Box bar and resturant. Open to the public for the first time.

Birmingham: A City Rooted in Talent is a compelling, groundbreaking documentary series produced to spotlight the city’s unparalleled diverse and creative heritage. Blending rare archival footage, exclusive interviews, and never-before-heard stories. The series features the trailblazers—musicians, broadcasters, people of sport, and cultural pioneers—who defined Birmingham’s sound and soul placing the city onto the world stage with the likes of Black Sabbath, Duran Duran and so many more. Driven by the city’s own talent, it’s a landmark celebration.
